GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's tennis team earned a 7-2 home victory Tuesday afternoon over fifth-seeded Saint Vincent at Walters-Zbell Courts in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship Tournament quarterfinals.
No. 4 seed Grove City (8-3) will now face top-seeded Franciscan in the tournament semifinals Friday in Washington, Pa.
Tuesday, Grove City won two of the three doubles matches against Saint Vincent. The Wolverines then sealed the team victory by posting five straight-set wins in singles action.
Grove City earned a darkness-shortened 5-3 win October 7 at Saint Vincent during the regular season. Franciscan pulled out a 6-3 decision at Grove City during the regular season September 24.
Friday's semifinal match with Franciscan will start at 1 p.m. The winner will face either No. 2 Washington & Jefferson or No. 3 Westminster in Saturday's championship round.
