Grove City wins 8th straight at home

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College volleyball team remained undefeated at home this season by earning a 25-13, 20-25, 25-16, 25-20 victory Thursday night over visiting Waynesburg in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at the Grove City College Arena. Grove City is 7-0 at home this fall and has won eight home consecutive matches, dating back to last spring.

Sophomore Eloise Augustine (West Chester, Ohio/Mars Hill) recorded a career-high 15 kills to help lead the Wolverines (15-7, 8-3 PAC) while sophomore Anna DeGraaf (Cranberry Township, Pa./Seneca Valley) added 11 kills on 25 attacks. Junior Faith Keating (Troy, Mich./Troy) chipped in eight kills.

Freshman setter Kennedy Kerr (East Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) distributed 23 assists and freshman Katie Kenlein (Spokane, Wash./Lewis and Clark) tallied 17 assists. Kerr also served four aces and DeGraaf had two aces. Grove City finished with 10 aces, marking the fourth time this season that the Wolverines have reached double figures in that category.

Augustine and Keating each posted 22 digs. Freshman Mya Lathem (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Woodridge) added 20 digs while Kenlein chalked up 13 digs. DeGraaf had a match-high five blocks. Senior Amanda Schmidt (Pittsburgh, Pa./Trinity Christian) had three blocks. Augustine, junior Robyn Collier (Corona, Calif./Carnegie Riverside) and sophomore Katie Pry (Enon, Ohio/Greenon) all had two blocks.

Grove City will host Chatham at 11 a.m. Saturday in conference action. The teams are tied for second place in the league at 8-3. Chatham defeated Grove City eight nights ago in Pittsburgh, 25-15, 22-25, 18-25, 25-21, 19-17.
