GREENVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College baseball team dropped an 11-3 decision Wednesday at Thiel in Presidents' Athletic Conference play at Tomcat Park. Wednesday's game concludes the teams' three-game series, which Grove City won 2-1.
Thiel broke open Wednesday's game by scoring five runs in the fifth inning, then four more tallies in the sixth inning.

Travis Auth (Medina, Ohio/Medina) paced Grove City (15-9, 5-3 PAC) by going 4 for 4 while senior catcher
Derek Boyle (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point) went 2 for 3.Â
Grove City took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Auth scored on a single by second baseman
Jesse Clary (Cranberry Township, Pa./Eden Christian). The Wolverines then added two runs in the seventh. Boyle scored on a groundout by junior first baseman
Matt Dayton (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton). Later, a groundout by senior
Micah Burke (Gilbert, Ariz./E.V.A.C.) drove in freshman right fielder
Colton Lineman (Chapel Hill, N.C./Northwood).
Sophomore
D.J. Newby (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport) started and pitched five innings for the Wolverines. Burke, freshman
Isaac Bowden (Fairfax, Va./Lake Braddock) and sophomore
Jacob Brothers (Aurora, Ill./Aurora Christian) all pitched in relief, with Brothers authoring a scoreless ninth inning.
Grove City returns to action Tuesday, April 9 when the Wolverines host Waynesburg in a 1 p.m. conference doubleheader.
