GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College baseball team dropped both ends of a home Presidents' Athletic Conference doubleheader Saturday against Washington & Jefferson (25-9, 19-1 PAC) at Jack Behringer Field. W&J pulled out a 4-1 win in the opener, then took Game Two, 11-2.
In the opener, sophomore pitcher
D.J. Newby (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport) fired a two-hitter for Grove City. Newby struck out a career-high 11 batters over his seven innings. He recorded Grove City's conference-best 12th complete game of the season.
Senior DH
Bobby Dulay (Youngstown, Ohio/Ursuline) went 2 for 3, including a run-scoring single in the sixth that scored senior third baseman
Micah Burke (Gilbert, Ariz./E.V.A.C.).
Grove City (23-13, 13-7 PAC) trailed 4-0 in the nightcap before halving the lead. In the fourth, sophomore second baseman
Jesse Clary (Cranberry Township, Pa./Eden Christian) singled in senior left fielder
Travis Auth (Medina, Ohio/Medina) to open the Wolverines' scoring.Â
Freshman right fielder
Colton Lineman (Chapel Hill, N.C./Northwood) led off the sixth inning with a home run, his team-leading fourth of the season. However, W&J broke open the game with a seven-run eighth inning.

Matt Dayton (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) all had two hits each for Grove City while sophomore catcher
Tanner Orner (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) doubled.Â
Sophomore pitcher
Lake Pry (West Sunbury, Pa./Moniteau) pitched into the eighth inning but took the setback. He allowed four earned runs in seven innings. Junior

Jacob Brothers (Aurora, Ill./Aurora Christian) combined to pitch the eighth inning in relief. Freshman
