CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. -- The Grove City College baseball team dropped both ends of a Presidents' Athletic Conference doubleheader Tuesday afternoon at Thomas More College. Thomas More pulled out a 7-6 win in 11 innings in Game One. The Saints then won the nightcap, 12-2.
In the opener, Grove City took a 6-5 lead in the top of the 11th when sophomore first baseman
Matt Dayton (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) doubled in junior third baseman
Micah Burke (Gilbert, Ariz./E.V.A.C.). However, Thomas More's Ben Laumann hit a two-run homer in the bottom of the 11th to give the Saints the win.
Grove City broke a scoreless tie in the fifth when Burke singled in sophomore shortstop

Tanner Orner (Carlisle, Pa./Cumberland Valley) scored on an error.
In the seventh, junior right fielder
Shane Hammel (Fort Collins, Colo./Fossil Ridge) laced a two-run single that scored Dayton and freshman left fielder
Jesse Clary (Cranberry Township, Pa./Eden Christian), pushing the lead to 4-1.Â
Thomas More forced extra innings but in the 10th, Abbott gave Grove City a 5-4 lead when he singled in freshman pinch runner
Jared Conti (Hookstown, Pa./South Side Beaver). Sean Lawrence homered for Thomas More to tie the game in the bottom of the 10th, however.
Abbott helped pace Grove City by going 3 for 4 while Burke doubled and singled.Â
