Nolan Myers (Landisville, Pa./Hempfield) each went 2 for 4.Â
Junior second baseman
Cameron Smail (Apollo, Pa./Kiski Area) went 2 for 5, his first multi-hit game of 2017.
Grove City (10-13 overall) grabbed a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first when Laylock and junior left fielder
Tyler Graham (Vandergrift, Pa./Kiski Area) both scored on a mishandled grounder. Waugaman scored the third run of the inning on a sacrifice fly by freshman DH
Matt Dayton (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton).
Waugaman blasted a solo homer in the third inning, pushing the lead to 4-0. Smail capped the inning with a two-run single that brought in Dayton and Myers. In the fourth, Waugaman laced a two-run single, extending Grove City's lead to 8-0.
Saint Vincent (10-12, 5-5) cut the lead to 8-2 but Dayton scored the Wolverines' ninth run on a wild pitch in the sixth. In the seventh, Waugaman launched a three-run homer. Grove City added three more runs in the eighth on Dulay's two-run single and Laylock's double that drove in Dulay.
Senior pitcher
