WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Grove City College baseball team dropped a 6-2 decision Monday afternoon at Washington & Jefferson in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Ross Memorial Park.
Grove City broke through in the third inning when junior left fielder
Tyler Graham (Vandergrift, Pa./Kiski Area) and sophomore third baseman
Micah Burke (Gilbert, Ariz./E.V.A.C.) cracked consecutive run-scoring singles, respectively driving in senior shortstop
David Laylock (Pittsburgh, Pa./Pine-Richland) and freshman center fielder
Austin Wacker (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley).

Matt Dayton (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) doubled and singled in four at bats for Grove City.Â
Freshman relievers
Corey Thomas (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) and
Henry Womble (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Catholic) combined to limit No. 21 W&J (16-3, 11-0 PAC) to one run over the final 6 1/3 innings. Thomas allowed one run in 4 1/3 innings while Womble blanked the Presidents in the seventh and eighth innings.
Sophomore pitcher
Phil Bell (Poland, Ohio/Heartland Christian) started and allowed five earned runs in 1 2/3 innings. Bell took the defeat.Â
Grove City (9-13, 6-6 PAC) will host Saint Vincent at 4 p.m. Wednesday in a single conference game. The Wolverines will head to Saint Vincent for a doubleheader Thursday afternoon.
