Jackie Stewart

A member of the Grove City College women’s basketball team from 2013 to 2017, Jackie Stewart returns to campus as assistant women’s basketball coach. The 2020-21 season will be her first season on the coaching staff.

Stewart joined the Grove City athletic department after spending the 2019-20 season as the director of basketball operations for Colgate University’s women’s basketball program. She helped Colgate to a 19-11 record last season, which marked the second-best record in program history.

Stewart’s coaching career began at NCAA Division III eastern powerhouse DeSales University. In the 2018-19 season, her second year at DeSales, the Bulldogs went 27-3 overall and advanced to the third round of the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament. DeSales went 16-0 in the Freedom Conference and won the conference tournament. Four players earned All-Freedom recognition.

Stewart lettered all four seasons at point guard for the Wolverines. She graduated as the program’s all-time leader with 107 games played. As a senior, Stewart helped Grove City to a berth in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III Championship Tournament. That marked Grove City’s first postseason appearance in 12 years.

A graduate of Chartiers Valley High School, near Pittsburgh, Stewart started 73 career games for Grove City.

Following her senior season, the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) selected Stewart for its prestigious “So You Want to Be a Coach” program.

In 2018, she traveled to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, with Athletes in Action.

Stewart graduated from Grove City in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in sociology. She then earned her master’s of education in instructional technology at DeSales in 2019.
