Addison Bennett joined the Grove City College men’s lacrosse team as an assistant coach in the summer of 2023. The 2026-27 academic year will be his fourth season on the coaching staff of his alma mater. Bennett works as offensive coordinator while overseeing the program's recruiting.
As a top aide to head coach Alec Jernstedt, Bennett has helped Grove City to three Presidents' Athletic Conference titles, three trips to the NCAA Division III Tournament and a pair of NCAA Tournament victories.
In 2026, a young Grove City squad rebounded from a 2-7 start to finish 14-8 overall. The Wolverines won the conference tournament with a 17-6 victory over Chatham, then handed host Ohio Wesleyan a 14-9 setback in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament. Grove City closed 2026 with a 16-15 setback at No. 6 Lynchburg in the NCAA Tournament's second round.
Senior faceoff specialist Colton Lehberg, senior defenders Sam Busby and Sam Stevenson, and junior short stick defensive midfielder Josh McDermott all earned United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Honorable Mention All-America following the 2026 season.
Stevenson also earned the conference's Defensive Player of the Year while Lehberg earned 2026 Specialist of the Year in the conference. Senior attack Mac Faircloth earned Offensive Player of the Year distinction and freshman midfielder Mason Lyons secured Newcomer of the Year.
Bennett helped Grove City to 15 wins, the Presidents' Athletic Conference title and a berth in the NCAA Division III Championship Tournament in 2024, his first season on the coaching staff.
In 2025, Grove City won its second-ever NCAA Tournament game by defeating visiting Albion, 18-3, in the first round of the tournament at Robert E. Thorn Field. The Wolverines finished 14-8 and won their sixth straight conference crown.
During his playing career as a long stick midfielder, Bennett helped anchor a Wolverines defense that won four consecutive conference titles. The Wolverines advanced to four NCAA Division III Championship Tournaments. As a fifth-year senior in May 2023, Bennett helped Grove City to an 18-17 double-overtime win over No. 14 Swarthmore in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
As a player, Bennett graduated as the program leader in caused turnovers with 87, while adding 16 goals and 11 assists. He garnered All-PAC Honorable Mention in 2019 and 2021, Second Team in 2022 and First Team recognition in 2023.
Since 2021, Bennett has coached for Fellowship of Christian Athletes Lacrosse (FCA) at both the regional and national level. Bennett graduated from Grove City College in 2022 with a bachelor's degree in communication studies.
