An eight-year National Football League veteran, Justin Hartwig enters his second season on the Grove City College coaching staff in 2026. He will work with the fullbacks and running backs this fall after assisting with the offensive line in 2025.
In 2025, Hartwig helped mold an offensive line that featured four first-year starters. That group's development helped the Wolverines earn the program's third straight berth in the NCAA Division III playoffs.Â
Hartwig started 95 games in the NFL from 2002 to 2009. He started at center for the Pittsburgh Steelers in both 2008 and 2009, helping the Steelers to the Super Bowl XLIII title in his first season.Â
Hartwig also played for the Tennessee Titans and Carolina Panthers during his career. The Titans selected Hartwig in the sixth round of 2002 NFL Draft. He played four seasons in Tennessee before spending the 2006 and 2007 seasons with the Panthers.
Hartwig started 34 games at tackle for the University of Kansas. He earned Second Team All-Big XII Conference honors as a senior in 2001.
