GROVE CITY COLLEGE WOLVERINES

Geoff Matthews

A four-year letterman and three-year starter at center for Grove City from 2016 to 2019, Geoff Matthews enters his fifth season on the coaching staff. Matthews works with the running backs and tight ends. He also handles video coordination.

Matthews helped Grove City to a 10-0 regular season and the Presidents' Athletic Conference title during the 2023 season. Running back Nico Flati earned All-Region honors after leading the conference with 1,234 yards while fullback Robert Tamburrino captured All-PAC recognition. The Wolverines ranked second in the conference in rushing offense in 2023.

In 2022, Grove City led the Presidents' Athletic Conference in scoring offense, total offense and rushing offense while also ranking second in time of possession as running backs Flati, Joey Guida and Clayton Parrish formed a highly effective three-man platoon.

Grove City capped the 2022 season with a 31-14 win over FDU-Florham in the ECAC James Lynah Bowl. In 2021, Grove City also went 8-3 and defeated Utica in the ECAC Scotty Whitelaw Bowl.

Matthews started 31 games over his final three seasons as a player, helping the Wolverines to ECAC James Lynah Bowl victories in 2018 and 2019.

A graduate of Deer Lakes (Pa.) High School, Matthews graduated from the College in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in business management.
