GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's volleyball team split a pair of matches Friday at the Wolverines' inaugural Coaches vs. Cancer Classic in the Grove City College Arena. Grove City closed the first day of action at the two-day event Friday night by securing a 25-14, 23-25, 25-19, 27-25 victory over Mount St. Joseph (8-3). Marietta (8-4) edged the Wolverines in a five-set opener, 19-25, 26-24, 23-25, 31-29, 15-12.
Senior
Sarah Hart (Marriottsville, Md./Liberty) led Grove City (9-3) with a season-high 21 kills against Mount St. Joseph while senior
Alayna Dorst (Middletown, Del./Middletown) recorded a dozen kills. Seniors
Kendra Klusch (Alliance, Ohio/Homeschooled) and
Lily Lagaras (Crofton, Md./Crofton) both chipped in eight kills.
Junior setter
Brooke Manfull (Wadsworth, Ohio/Wadsworth) tallied 25 assists and senior
Sarah Harris (Lebanon, Ohio/Mars Hill) added 16 assists. Junior libero
Lilly Wojtala (Copley, Ohio/Revere) doled out nine assists. Dorst served three aces. Klusch and freshman
Reagan Riordan (Sewickley, Pa./North Allegheny) both served a pair of aces.
Klusch chalked up a team-leading six blocks while junior
Lilly Pool (Huntington, Ind./Ashland, Ohio) posted five blocks. Hart and sophomore
Taylor Ripple (New Bethlehem, Pa./Redbank Valley) both added four blocks.Â
Wojtala led the Wolverines with 18 digs. Dorst contributed 17 digs and Manfull finished the match with 12 digs.Â
Dorst recorded a career-high 23 kills in Friday's curtain-raiser against Marietta. Hart posted 17 kills while Klusch finished with 14 kills. Pool talliled nine kills.
Manfull paced the offense with a career-high 35 assists. Harris posted 24 assists. Wojtala served two aces.Â
Klusch led the Wolverine defense with eight total blocks. Lagaras, Pool and Ripple all added five blocks. Wojtala tallied a career-high 33 digs. Dorst had 15 digs and Manfull finished with 10 digs.Â
Dorst's 23 kills are tied for 10th on Grove City's single-match leaderboard. The 23 kills are the most for a Grove City player since Hart's 24-kill outing November 1, 2025 at Franciscan.Â
Grove City will host a pair of matches Saturday in the Grove City College Arena. Grove City hosts Albion at 12 p.m., then faces Penn State Behrend at 4 p.m. in the tournament finale.
