PITTSBURGH -- The Grove City College men's soccer team limited host La Roche to two total shots Saturday afternoon as the visiting Wolverines opened their 2026 road schedule with a 3-0 non-conference victory at Baierl Athletic Complex.
Grove City (2-0-3) took a 1-0 lead at 16:18 when senior midfielder
Noah Gray (Glen Mills, Pa./The Christian Academy) scored an unassisted goal. Gray then helped Grove City double its lead at 34:34 when he assisted a goal scored by sophomore midfielder
Cristian Garcia (Miami, Fla./Florida Christian). It is Garcia's first goal of 2026 and the second score of his collegiate career.
Following a weather delay of over two hours at the end of the first half, Grove City sewed up the victory at 80:58 when sophomore midfielder
Owen Whitehead (Mesa, Ariz./Arete Prep) blasted in his first goal of 2026. Sophomore midfielder
Nate Wilcox (Helena, Mont./Capital) assisted Whitehead's goal.
Grove City outshot La Roche, 13-2, including a 6-1 margin in shots on goal. The Wolverines had nine corner kicks while La Roche had two corners.

Caedmon Whipple (Canton, Mich./Plymouth Christian) earned his second shutout of the season by making one save.
The Wolverines will host Bethany at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Presidents' Athletic Conference opener at Don Lyle Field.
