CANONSBURG, Pa. -- Freshman
Emily Burling (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) placed second while junior
Lauren Kardos (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) earned fourth place Monday afternoon to help the Grove City College women's golf team take third at Washington & Jefferson College's Rossin Invitational, held at Southpointe Golf Club.
Paced by its two top-five finishers, Grove City recorded a team score of 384. Division II Seton Hill won the event with a 372 while host W&J finished second with a 373 total.
Burling earned second place individually by shooting an 89. Kardos, meanwhile, took fourth after shooting a 91.Â
Senior Hailey Muñoz (Sparta, N.J./Morris Catholic) joined that tandem in the top 10 by taking ninth place. Muñoz posted a 94.
Sophomore
Gabrielle Kinneer (Mount Pleasant, Pa./Mount Pleasant) earned 22nd with a 110 while senior
Rebekah Gaehring (Hawthorne, N.J./Hawthorne) rounded out the lineup by placing 25th. Gaehring carded a 113.
W&J's MacKenzie Schmeltz earned medalist with an 84. Forty women competed in Monday's tournament.
Grove City returns to action Saturday as the Wolverines will compete in the Allegheny Invitational in Meadville.
