LITTLE RIVER, S.C. -- The Grove City College softball team dropped a 5-2 decision to Pennsylvania rival Wilkes in non-conference action Thursday at North Myrtle Beach Park.
Grove City broke through in the sixth inning when freshman first baseman
Cora Myers (Blanchard, Pa./Central Mountain) cracked a two-run double that scored freshman third baseman
Emma Vok (Wintersville, Ohio/Indian Creek) and senior center fielder
Noel Anthony (Clarion, Pa./Clarion).
Grove City brought the tying run to the plate in the bottom of the seventh inning with one out as freshman shortstop
Lily Meidl (Pataskala, Ohio/Licking Heights) singled and sophomore right fielder
Elena Tylka (Venetia, Pa./Peters Township) reached on an error. However, the Wolverines stranded Meidl and Tylka.

The Wolverines (4-2) conclude their week-long trip Friday with a pair of games. Grove City faces Columbia (S.C.) at 10 a.m. Friday, then meets Hilbert at 12 p.m. in the Spring Break windup.
