HIRAM, Ohio -- The Grove City College men's volleyball team served 11 aces Tuesday night on its way to a 25-21, 25-12, 25-19 victory at Hiram in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Price Gymnasium.
Sophomore
Keith Otto (Irwin, Pa./Penn-Trafford) served a season-high five aces while senior
Tieg Malcolm (New Philadelphia, Ohio/Homeschooled) served three aces. Junior
Hayden McCreadie (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) added two aces as Grove City posted its second-highest ace total of the season.
Junior
Max Gianneski (Butler, Pa./Butler) led the offense with 12 kills on only 19 attacks. Otto added six kills while Malcolm, junior
Carson Good (Jeannette, Pa./Penn-Trafford) and junior
Andrew Kessler (Jeannette, Pa./Penn-Trafford) all had five kills.
Junior setter
Craig Fair (Stevens, Pa./Cocalico) recorded 31 assists.
Kessler paced Grove City's defense with five blocks. Good and Malcolm each notched three blocks. Otto and freshman libero
Evan DiMalanta (Medina, Ohio/Highland) both had seven digs.
Grove City served 13 aces as a team in its January 22 sweep of Carlow.
Grove City (9-12, 2-4) will visit conference rival Thiel at 1 p.m. Saturday to begin the second half of the league schedule.
