GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's swimming and diving team won all 16 events Thursday night on the way to a 148-118 victory over visiting Westminster in a Presidents' Athletic Conference dual meet in James E. Longnecker Pool.
Two freshmen each earned two individual victories Thursday night for the Wolverines. Freshman
Chaeli Keenan (New Alexandria, Pa./Derry) swept diving while classmate
Abigail Vance (Butler, Pa./Butler) won the 200 and 500 free.
Keenan won 1-meter diving with a total of 223.25 points for six dives, then recorded a winning total of 220.75 on the 3-meter board. Vance, meanwhile, recorded a winning time of 1 minute, 59.51 seconds in the 200 free and a time of 5:26.33 in the 500.
Freshman
Mary Anne Altman (Sarver, Pa./Freeport) won the 50 free in 25.57 seconds while classmate
Abby Tweed (Beaver Falls, Pa./Blackhawk) prevailed in the 100 free (55.10). Freshman
Cora Plank (Slippery Rock, Pa./Portersville Christian) completed the Grove City freestyle sweep by posting a winning time of 1:51.66 in the 1000.
Freshman
Mikayla Little (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) won the 100 backstroke in 1:03.17 while fellow rookie
Katie Quinn (Edinboro, Pa./General McLane) won the 200 backstroke in a time of 2:13.23.
Senior
Sarah Janicki (Denver, Colo./Austin Waldorf) took first in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:11.97. Freshman
Erika Doolittle (Clarington, Pa./Brookville) capped the breaststroke sweep with a winning time of 2:43.69 in the 200.
Sophomore
Hadleigh McNay (Tucker, Ga./Tucker) won the 100 butterfly (1:03.92) and freshman
Mollie Massella (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock) prevailed in the 200 butterfly (2:13.92).
Sophomore
Freja Kile (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) captured the 200 individual medley, recording a mark of 2:19.42.
Little, McNay, Tweed and junior
Ashley Rauhauser (York, Pa./Central York) won the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:51.66. Rauhauser, Tweed, senior
Sadie Shofestall (Brookville, Pa./Brookville) and sophomore
Ellie Webster (Westfield, Ind./Westfield) closed the meet by winning the 200 free relay (1:40.86).
Grove City's men's team defeated Westminster, 107-58. The two swimming wins Thursday night give head coach
Dave Fritz 400 head coaching wins at the College. He is in his 17th season as Grove City head women's swimming and diving coach and in his 24th campaign as the skipper of the men's swimming and diving program. Fritz also coached men's (2002-05) and women's water polo (2002-09) at Grove City.
The Wolverines will visit PennWest Clarion for a non-conference dual meet Saturday at 1 p.m.
