OBERLIN, Ohio -- The Grove City College women's volleyball team improved to 6-0 Saturday by sweeping Adrian in the second day of action at the Oberlin College Invitational. The Wolverines earned a 25-20, 25-23, 25-16 victory at Philips Gymnasium, concluding a 3-0 weekend.
Juniors
Alayna Dorst (Middletown, Del./Middletown) and
Sarah Hart (Marriottsville, Md./Liberty) both recorded 11 kills for the Wolverines while senior
Lila Stonehouse (Hatboro, Pa./Abington) contributed nine kills.
Sophomore setter
Brooke Manfull (Wadsworth, Ohio/Wadsworth) recorded 15 assists and senior setter
Brooklyn Wirebaugh (Medina, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) added 12 assists. Manfull and sophomore
Lilly Wojtala (Copley, Ohio/Revere) both served two aces.
Dorst paced the defense with 13 digs. Manfull, Wojtala and senior
Bella Costa (Newbury, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) all had nine digs.
Junior
Kendra Klusch (Alliance, Ohio/Homeschooled) led Grove City with four blocks. Classmate
Lily Lagaras (Crofton, Md./Crofton) added three blocks.
Grove City will open its home schedule Tuesday at 6 p.m. against perennial power Carnegie Mellon.
