DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The Grove City College men's basketball team dropped a 55-49 decision Saturday afternoon to Wisconsin-River Falls in non-conference action at the Ocean Center. Grove City held River Falls (5-6) without a field goal for the final 8:17 of the game but the Wolverines could not fully erase a 14-point deficit.
Senior guard
Mike Christenson (Oakton, Va./Trinity) led Grove City with a game-high 19 points. Senior guard
Kyle Randle (Willowick, Ohio/Eastlake North) added nine points.
Each team made 18 field goals. Each team pulled in 37 rebounds and committed 11 turnovers. Wisconsin-River Falls went 15 of 24 at the foul line while Grove City made 10 of 13 free throws.
Grove City shot 34 percent (18 of 53) for the game while Wisconsin-River Falls made 38 percent (18 for 47) of its field goal attempts.
Junior center
Austin Johncour (Sewickley, Pa./Avonworth) led Grove City with six rebounds while freshman forward
Josh Book (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock) had five rebounds. Christenson assisted three field goals.
Jack Leifker led Wisconsin-River Falls with 17 points. The Falcons led 29-26 at halftime.
Grove City will host Alfred at 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 31 in the 2025 finale.
