Grove City blanks Hiram

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team scored three goals in the final eight minutes of the first half Wednesday night on the way to a 4-0 win at Hiram in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Charles A. Henry Field. 

Sophomore forward Kiara White (Perkiomenville, Pa./Perkiomen Valley) scored twice during the three-goal outburst while senior midfielder Natalie Giunta (Penfield, N.Y./Penfield) scored between White's tallies. 

White broke a scoreless tie at 37:30 with her fourth goal of the season. Freshman midfielder Lauren Muhanna (Moon Township, Pa./Moon) assisted White's goal. Giunta then doubled the lead at 39:58 by scoring her first goal of 2025. Junior forward Hannah Plunkard (Slippery Rock, Pa./Slippery Rock) supplied the assist.

White's unassisted goal with 47 seconds left in the half boosted the lead to 3-0.

Junior forward Emma Dailey (East Brady, Pa./Karns City) sealed the win in the second half by scoring at 67:53. Plunkard and freshman midfielder Ady Waters (Port Clinton, Ohio/Tree of Life Christian) both recorded assists on Dailey's goal, her second of the season. 

Grove City (5-4-2, 4-0-1) outshot Hiram, 26-9, which included a 16-1 margin in the first half. The Wolverines recorded nine shots on goal while limiting Hiram to one shot on goal. Grove City accumulated nine corner kicks while Hiram did not have a corner kick.

Junior goalie Maddie Mills (Niskayuna, N.Y./Niskayuna) earned her fifth win of the season by playing 71:35. She made one save. Freshman Ella Lotz (McKeesport, Pa./South Allegheny) closed out the shutout by playing the final 18:25 in goal. 

Wednesday's win marked Grove City's third straight shutout victory. The Wolverines will visit longtime conference rival Westminster at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
