Opening Night for Wolverines

GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's volleyball team began intercollegiate varsity play Wednesday night by hosting Penn State Behrend in non-conference action at the Grove City College Arena. Behrend pulled out a 25-23, 25-23, 26-24 victory over the Wolverines in both teams' season opener.

Freshman Keith Otto (Irwin, Pa./Penn-Trafford) paced Grove City with 10 kills while sophomore Max Gianneski (Butler, Pa./Butler) recorded seven kills. Sophomore setter Craig Fair (Stevens, Pa./Cocalico) tallied 24 assists.

Fair also led the Wolverines with 10 digs while freshman libero Ben McVey (Midlothian, Va./Cosby) tallied nine digs.

Sophomore Andrew Kessler (Jeannette, Pa./Penn-Trafford) posted eight blocks. Otto and senior Quintin Norris (Savannah, N.Y./North Rose-Wolcott) both had four blocks.

The 2025 season is Grove City's first season of varsity play after the College fielded a club level program for approximately three decades.

Grove City will make its road debut Friday night at Juniata. The non-conference match will start at 8 p.m.
