GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College softball team recorded a pair of last at-bat wins Wednesday evening on the way to a sweep of visiting Washington & Jefferson in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at College Field. Grove City (20-14, 10-8 PAC) won the opener, 2-1, as freshman pitcher
Abigail Meadors (Warren, Ohio/Champion) belted a tie-breaking solo home run in the bottom of the sixth.
In Game Two, Grove City pulled out a 7-6 win in eight innings. Freshman left fielder
Evelyn Montone (Allentown, Pa./Parkland) lofted a two-out single to left field in the eighth inning, driving in sophomore center fielder
Noel Anthony (Clarion, Pa./Clarion) with the winning run.
Grove City trailed 1-0 in the fifth inning of the opener but Montone's game-tying infield hit drove in sophomore shortstop
Rylie Eaton (Grove City, Pa./Grove City). Meadors then led off the bottom of the sixth inning with her first collegiate home run to give Grove City its first lead.
Meadors then retired W&J in order in the top of the seventh to close out the win. Meadors allowed six singles in seven innings. She struck out two and walked one.

Lauren Harris (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) doubled and singled while Montone finished 2 for 3.
Grove City jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the nightcap. Freshman first baseman
Alexis Jackson (Coventry Township, Ohio/Coventry) cracked a first-inning single that scored junior second baseman
Maci Linhart (Columbiana, Ohio/Columbiana). Jackson's two-run double in the third inning pushed the lead to 3-0 as Linhart and Anthony both came home.
Jackson scored the Wolverines' fourth run when senior designated player
Erin Mulholland (Malvern, Pa./Delaware County Christian) singled to left field.
W&J forged a short-lived 4-4 tie in the sixth inning. Grove City reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the sixth as Anthony tripled in junior pinch runner
Kamryn Weissinger (Youngsville, Pa./Youngsville) and later scored on a Harris single.
W&J scored twice with two outs in the seventh inning, sending the game to extra innings. In the bottom of the eighth, Anthony led off a single. She then advanced to third on Harris's sacrifice bunt.
Anthony went 3 for 4 with three runs scored while Jackson finished 3 for 5 as the Wolverines amassed 15 hits. Linhart tripled and singled. Jackson finished 2 for 4.
Meadors (9-6) earned her second win of the day by pitching 2 1/3 innings of relief. She allowed a hit and two unearned runs. Meadors struck out three. Junior starter
Brooke Brodie (Mogadore, Ohio/Mogadore) allowed four runs in 5 2/3 innings.
Grove City will visit La Roche for a non-conference doubleheader Thursday at 3:30 p.m. Friday, the Wolverines close the conference schedule with a 3:30 p.m. twinbill at Saint Vincent. The Wolverines will clinch a spot in next week's six-team conference tournament with one win Friday.
