GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's swimming and diving team secured its sixth consecutive Presidents' Athletic Conference title Saturday night by finishing the four-day Presidents' Athletic Conference Championships at the College's James E. Longnecker Pool with 1,090 points. The Wolverines amassed a 462-point margin of victory over runner-up Westminster.
Sophomore
Caleb Einolf (Quakertown, Pa./Quakertown) earned the conference's Most Valuable Performer award while freshman
Owen Hancock (Brunswick, Ohio/Westside Christian) captured the league's Newcomer of the Year honor.

Sam Funches (Tacoma, Wash./Covenant) punctuated Grove City's championship by winning the 400 free relay Saturday night. That foursome combined for a meet-record time of 3 minutes, 3.02 seconds. That time also breaks the previous pool record.
Grove City swimmers earned four wins during Saturday night's finals. Einolf won the 100 free in a time of 44.86 seconds, which surpasses the NCAA Championships provisional qualifying standard.
Hancock won the 200 butterfly in 1:53.78. Freshman
C.J. Mayhew (Gaithersburg, Md./Homeschooled) opened the session by winning the 1650 in a time of 16:48.58. Sophomore
Will Sterrett (Wilmington, N.C./Hoggard) captured the 200 backstroke in a time of 1:53.20.
Sophomore
Logan Myers (Middleburg, Fla./Homeschooled) took runner-up in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:54.62. Junior
Calvin Doolittle (Clarington, Pa./Brookville) finished third in that event with a time of 2:03.98.
Beukema placed third in the 100 free (45.98). Freshman
Bryce Pope (Wilmington, Del./Delaware Valley Christian) took third in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:09.68. Meanwhile, freshman
Charlie Cratty (Latrobe, Pa./Latrobe) touched third in the 200 backstroke, recording a time of 2:00.42.
Sophomore
Sam Thayer (Canton, Ohio/Massillon Jackson) finished third in the 1650 with a 17:03.76 clocking.
Cratty added a fourth-place finish in the 200 butterfly (2:04.78) and Funches finished fourth in the 100 free (46.96). Freshman
Peter Hasse (East Earl, Pa./Homeschooled) captured fourth place in the 200 backstroke (2:00.85) and classmate
Andrew Buxbaum (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater-Raritan) earned fourth in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:10.24.Â

Jacob Vannoy (Coatesville, Pa./Conestoga Christian) placed fifth in the 200 backstroke (2:01.13) while sophomore
Emmett Wilson (Laconia, N.H./Homeschooled) finished fifth in the 200 breaststroke (2:16.47). Sophomore
Garrett Hopkins (Medina, Ohio/Homeschooled) took fifth in the 100 free with a time of 48.49 seconds.Â
Freshman
Josh Remlinger (Granville, Ohio/Granville) took fifth in the 200 butterfly (2:05.44). Sophomore
John Remaniak (Cordova, Md./Eastern) took sixth in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:17.34.
Einolf recorded three "B," or provisional qualifying, times during the meet. Friday, he recorded a time of 55.17 seconds in the 100 breaststroke during a time trial. He also won the 100 butterfly with a "B" cut time of 48.58 seconds Friday night.
Overall, it is Grove City's 24th all-time Presidents' Athletic Conference title. The Wolverines also won eight Penn-Ohio Conference titles prior to joining the PAC in 1984-85.
