GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's basketball team dropped to 3-1 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference as visiting Washington & Jefferson (5-1, 3-1) picked up a 75-52 win Wednesday night over the Wolverines in conference action at the Grove City College Arena.
The Presidents shot 30 of 50 (60 percent) from the field for the game, including a 6-for-12 outing on three-point attempts. Grove City, meanwhile, finished 23 of 61 (38 percent) from the field.
Sophomore center
Isaac Cherry (Sagamore Hills, Ohio/Nordonia) paced Grove City with 14 points while juniors
Mike Christenson (Oakton, Va./Trinity) and
Kyle Randle (Willowick, Ohio/Eastlake North) both added eight points.Â
Cherry led Grove City with five rebounds. He also blocked a pair of shots. Senior guard
Chase Yarberough (Lititz, Pa./Warwick) recorded three steals.Â
Each team had 15 turnovers. W&J outrebounded the Wolverines, 32-27.
Quinton Burlenski led W&J with 19 points. W&J led 38-24 at halftime.
Grove City (5-3, 3-1) will visit Chatham at 2 p.m. Saturday in conference action.
