GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's soccer team posted its highest single-game shot total in 16 seasons Wednesday night in the Wolverines' regular season finale against Presidents' Athletic Conference rival Waynesburg. However, only one of Grove City's 52 total shots ended up in the goal as the Wolverines settled for a 1-1 home draw with Waynesburg at Don Lyle Field.
Grove City (11-3-3, 8-0-2 PAC) seized a 1-0 lead at the 8:40 mark when sophomore forward
Tori Stevenson (Butler, Pa./Butler) scored her seventh goal of the season. Senior forward
Britta Lagerquist (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) supplied the assist on Stevenson's score.
Waynesburg (8-4-4, 4-3-3 PAC) forged a 1-1 tie at 58:22 as Julz Mohrbacher scored from close range.
Grove City outshot Waynesburg in the first half, 23-1, and then held a 29-2 advantage over the final 45 minutes. Grove City had 18 shots on goal while Waynesburg had three shots on goal. The Wolverines also had a 10-0 edge in corner kicks.

Courtney Lisman (Mars, Pa./Mars) stopped two shots for Grove City.
The 52 shots are the most for the Wolverines since October 4, 2008, when Grove City peppered Thiel with 54 shots in a 7-0 victory. Lagerquist recorded her 23rd career assist Wednesday night. She ranks fifth in program history in that category. Lagerquist has four assists in 10 regular season matches this season.
Grove City is now 24-0-3 in its last 27 regular season conference matches. The Wolverines will be the No. 2 seed in the upcoming six-team conference tournament. Grove City receives a bye to the semifinals, which will be held next Wednesday. Grove City will host either No. 3 Allegheny or No. 6 Waynesburg in the semifinals. Those teams will meet Saturday in Meadville in the quarterfinal round.
Grove City nailed down a 5-3 win September 28 at Allegheny during the regular season.
