GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's volleyball team dropped to 3-2 in the Presidents' Athletic Conference as visiting Thiel pulled out a 34-32, 19-25, 25-20, 26-24 victory over the Wolverines in conference action Saturday afternoon at the Grove City College Arena.
Sophomore
Lily Lagaras (Crofton, Md./Crofton) led Grove City (12-9 overall) with a dozen kills. Sophomore
Alexis Standford (Walkersville, Md./New Life Christian) and freshman
Lilly Pool (Ashland, Ohio/Ashland) each tallied eight kills.
Senior setter
Kennedy Kerr (East Grand Rapids, Mich./East Grand Rapids) posted 22 assists and junior setter
Brooklyn Wirebaugh (Medina, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian) set 20 assists. Kerr also served three aces.
Sophomore
Kendra Klusch (Alliance, Ohio/Homeschooled) led Grove City's defensive efforts with eight blocks. Junior
Lila Stonehouse (Hatboro, Pa./Abington) totaled four blocks while Pool and Standford both had three blocks.
Sophomore
Julia Fisher (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Mennonite) recorded 22 digs and Lagaras added 15 digs.
Kerr now has 158 career aces. She moved into second place on Grove City's career list. Cara Denniston (1999-2002) owns the school record with 250 aces. Kerr's 158 aces are the most for a Grove City player whose full career came in the rally scoring era (2001-present).
Grove City will host Allegheny at 7 p.m. Wednesday in conference action.
