STEUBENVILLE, Ohio -- The Grove City College women's tennis team closed its Presidents' Athletic Conference schedule Thursday afternoon by pulling out a 5-2 road victory over Franciscan at Belleview Courts.
The win gives Grove City (10-1, 7-1 PAC) the No. 2 seed in next week's six-team conference tournament. Grove City receives a bye to the semifinals. The Wolverines will host either the No. 3 or No. 6 seed next Thursday afternoon in the second round of the tournament.
At Franciscan, the Wolverines earned the doubles team point by picking up wins at both first and third doubles. Three straight-set singles wins and a three-set victory from freshman
Iris Kiehl (Warren, Pa./Warren) at fourth singles sealed the team victory.
Grove City will close the regular season Saturday at 11 a.m. against PennWest California in non-conference play at Walters-Zbell Courts.
