GROVE CITY, Pa. -- In a game that featured nine ties and 11 lead changes, the Grove City College women's basketball team dropped a 62-58 decision Monday night to visiting Westminster in the quarterfinals of the 2023 Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship Tournament, held in the Grove City College Arena.

Megan Kallock (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Salem) fired in a team-high 19 points for the third-seeded Wolverines. Sophomore guard
Mara Polczynski (Irwin, Pa./Norwin), sophomore forward
Clara Hannon (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) and freshman guard
Emily Garvin (Danville, Pa./Northumberland Christian) all added eight points.
Grove City (15-11 overall) forged a 53-53 tie with 4:32 left on a backdoor layup by freshman guard
Reese Hasley (Cheswick, Pa./Deer Lakes). Grove City misfired on its next three possessions as Westminster reclaimed the lead with a 7-0 run.
Grove City pulled to within three, 61-58, with seven seconds left as junior center
Katie Baller (Lone Tree, Colo./Valor Christian) scored on an out-of-bounds play. Westminster's Natalie Murrio split two free throws moments later to seal the game.
Baller grabbed a career-high 15 rebounds for Grove City. Hannon and junior forward
Kat Goetz (Pittsburgh, Pa./Avonworth) both had six rebounds. Westminster held a 51-47 edge on the glass.
Grove City shot 24 of 73 (33 percent). Westminster (16-10) hit 23 of 62 (37 percent) field goal attempts.
Baller and Polczynski both had three assists. Polczynski also had four steals. Baller recorded two blocks. Grove City had 12 turnovers while Westminster had 15 turnovers.
Grove City trailed 23-14 in the second quarter but surged ahead with a 10-0 run. Kallock scored seven straight points and Hannon capped the run with a three-point play. Polczynski's jumper with 1:48 left in the half gave Grove City a 28-25 lead.
Westminster tied the game at 28 on Camden Hergenrother's three-pointer in the closing moments of the second quarter. The game also featured an 11-11 tie after one quarter and a 46-46 stalemate after 30 minutes.
Westminster went 10 of 19 at the foul line. Grove City made 7 of 14 foul shots. Hergenrother led No. 6 seed Westminster with 22 points.
Kallock now has 458 points this season, which is the No. 7 mark on Grove City's single-season list. She is one of six players in program history to have multiple 400-point seasons.
