BEAVER FALLS, Pa. -- The Grove City College men's soccer team closed the 2023 season Saturday night with a 1-0 setback at top-seeded Geneva in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship Tournament title match, held at Reeves Field.
Third-seeded Grove City (9-6-5) limited Geneva (12-4-4) to only six total shots and two shots on goal. Geneva converted on its first shot in the match, however, as Carnel Kerr scored at 20:44. Gabe Singh provided the assist.
Grove City outshot the Tornadoes, 9-6, along with a 6-2 edge in shots on goal. Geneva defenders cleared a pair of Grove City shots off the line in the second half, preserving the 1-0 lead.
Geneva doubled up Grove City in corner kicks, 6-3.

Teddy Almeter (Monroeville, Pa./Serra) made one save for the Wolverines.
Grove City made its first title game appearance since 2018. The Wolverines entered Saturday night's match on a five-game win streak, including Wednesday's 4-1 semifinal win at No. 2 Franciscan.Â
The Wolverines went 6-3-1 in conference play during the regular season. Grove City also fell at Geneva by a 1-0 score during the regular season October 7.
