GROVE CITY, Pa. -- Five Grove City College fall sports athletes earned Presidents' Athletic Conference weekly recognition Monday afternoon as a result of their respective performances last week for the Wolverines.
The Grove City men's soccer team produced a pair of honorees as junior defender
Luke Kimmich (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) earned Offensive Player of the Week and sophomore goalkeeper
Teddy Almeter (Monroeville, Pa./Serra) earned Defensive Player of the Week.Â

Emma Herrmann (Hilton, N.Y./Paul V. Moore) captured Offensive Player of the Week distinction in women's soccer while freshman
Alexis Standford (Walkersville, Md./New Life Christian) earned Newcomer of the Week in women's volleyball.

Gabe Dunlap (Harrison City, Pa./Penn Trafford) earned Special Teams Player of the Week.
Kimmich had two goals and an assist Saturday in Grove City's 5-1 win over Saint Vincent at Don Lyle Field. He scored the game-winner at 22:33, then added a second goal 4:11 into the second half. Kimmich also assisted a second-half goal from senior forward
Lance Lenosky (Bradenton, Fla./Braden River) in Saturday's triumph, which clinched the Wolverines' spot in the conference tournament.
Kimmich's defensive work during the week helped Grove City (6-5-5, 5-3-1 PAC) post an aggregate 0.50 GAA for the week, including a 3-0 win Wednesday night at Waynesburg.
Almeter went 2-0 with a 0.50 GAA and an .889 save percentage last week, helping Grove City sew up a conference tournament berth. He made six saves Wednesday night in a 3-0 win at Waynesburg, to record his fifth clean sheet of the season. Almeter then had two saves Saturday in a 5-1 win over visiting Saint Vincent.
Almeter has five shutouts this year and leads the conference with a 1.00 GAA.
Herrmann earned Offensive Player of the Week for the second straight week after she scored all three goals in Grove City's two victories. She scored both Grove City goals Wednesday night in a come-from-behind 2-1 win at Waynesburg.
Herrmann then scored at 79:17 Saturday to give the Wolverines a 1-0 home win over Saint Vincent. The win clinched the No. 1 seed in the upcoming conference tournament.
Herrmann's 15 goals are tied for fifth-most on Grove City's single-season list. She has five game-winning goals for the Wolverines (11-4-1, 8-0-1 PAC).
Standford had 10 kills and three blocks Wednesday night in Grove City's lone match of the week, a 25-14, 25-14, 25-16 victory at Saint Vincent. She recorded a .320 hitting percentage in the victory.
Standford ranks second on the Wolverines (17-8, 3-3 PAC) in kill average (2.23) and third with 42 total blocks. She also earned the conference's Newcomer of the Week award September 5.
Dunlap returned a punt 40 yards for a touchdown Saturday in Grove City's 49-0 win over Saint Vincent. That marked Grove City's first punt return for a touchdown since Jimmy Bailey's school-record 88-yard run back 12 years ago against Westminster. The 40-yard runback is the longest punt return in the conference this season.
Dunlap added a second punt return of 19 yards, along with a 26-yard return of SVC's only kickoff. He also had an interception and seven tackles on defense from his cornerback post.
The Grove City soccer teams will host Washington & Jefferson in a conference doubleheader Wednesday at Don Lyle Field. The women's match starts at 5 p.m., with the men to follow at 7:30 p.m. The volleyball team hosts Bethany at 6 p.m. in conference action Wednesday in the Grove City College Arena.
The football team, now ranked 21st in the American Football Coaches Association Top 25 and No. 22 in the D3football.com Top 25, will host Bethany at 1 p.m. Saturday. Grove City (8-0, 8-0 PAC) will clinch a share of the conference title and the league's automatic berth in the NCAA Division III playoffs with a win.
