GROVE CITY, Pa. -- A strong fourth quarter performance helped lift the Grove City College womens's basketball team to a 71-51 victory Saturday afternoon over visiting Westminster in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at the Grove City College Arena. Grove City led 49-44 after three quarters, then shot 9 of 18 from the field in the final 10 minutes to break open the game.

Four Grove City players scored in double figures, led by junior forward Kat Goetz (Pittsburgh, Pa./Avonworth) with 15 points. Senior guard Megan Kallock (Greensburg, Pa./Greensburg Salem) posted 13 points while sophomore guard Jaden Davinsizer (Harmony, Pa./Seneca Valley) added 11 points. Sophomore forward Clara Hannon (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) chipped in 10 points on 4-of-8 shooting.

Grove City opened the fourth quarter on an 18-4 run, which started when sophomore guard Mara Polczynski (Irwin, Pa./Norwin) hit a pair of free throws. Following a Kallock jumper, junior center Katie Baller (Lone Tree, Colo./Valor Christian) scored on a fast break. Baller then added a three-point play that pushed Grove City's lead to 58-46 with 7:38 left.

Another Baller jumper and Davinsizer's third three-pointer of the game extended the Wolverines' lead to 63-48. Fast-break baskets by Davinsizer and sophomore forward Hayley Fenchel (Harleysville, Pa./Souderton) capped the outburst.

Grove City trailed by as many as nine points, 26-17, in the first half and faced a 34-26 margin with 3:47 left in the second quarter. The Wolverines surged ahead by halftime with an 11-2 run, however. Goetz ignited the blitz with a layup and Kallock then followed with consecutive three-pointers.
