WASHINGTON, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's lacrosse team concluded its first intercollegiate varsity season Saturday afternoon by dropping a 13-5 decision at Washington & Jefferson in the Presidents' Athletic Conference Championship Tournament title game at Alexandre Stadium. The second-seeded Wolverines finish the 2022 season with a 14-4 overall record.
Top-seeded W&J (12-4) led 3-2 after one quarter, then outscored Grove City 4-0 over the next 15 minutes to take a 7-2 halftime lead.Â

Grace Dymski (Carlisle, Pa./Carlisle) and
Brooke Stoltzfus (Elverson, Pa./Conestoga Christian) both scored, as did junior midfielder
Madison Nazigian (Forest, Va./Jefferson Forest), freshman midfielder
Amber Wartman (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Hebron) and freshman defender
Emily Arnold (Ijamsville, Md./Urbana).

Sarah Jackson (Brookfield, Conn./Brookfield) each caused two turnovers. Wartman had a team-leading four draw controls.Â

Elyse Kiggins (Zelienople, Pa./Seneca Valley) stopped 14 shots, her seventh game with 10 or more saves. W&J outshot the Wolverines, 37-16. Each team had 28 turnovers.Â
W&J earned its second straight conference title. The Presidents defeated Grove City last Saturday in the regular season finale, 17-9, in Washington, Pa.
Grove City went 7-1 in conference play during the regular season and compiled a 10-game win streak this spring.Â
