Sam DiStefano (Fairview, Pa./Fairview) singled twice while Rodriguez added a double.

Shane Cato (New Castle, Pa./Shenango), cutting the lead to 4-3. Tambellini scored the tying run on a wild pitch.

Lucca Baccari (Irwin, Pa./Penn-Trafford) put Grove City ahead in the eighth inning, 5-4, when he scored from second base on a wild pitch. Baccari's fielder's choice in the first inning drove in freshman second baseman

Cato earned the win in relief by pitching 1 2/3 innings. He struck out one and allowed one run. Senior pitcher
D.J. Newby (McKeesport, Pa./McKeesport) struck out a season-high eight batters in his seven innings. He allowed four runs and four hits. Senior reliever
Robby Randolph (Cranberry Township, Pa./North Catholic) pitched 1 1/3 innings and yielded a run.
Wednesday's win marked Grove City's third win this season over a team ranked in the NCAA Division III Region VII rankings. The Wolverines also own wins over Mount Union and Allegheny in non-conference play. W&J is ranked fifth in the regional rankings, which came out Wednesday afternoon.Â
Grove City will host Saint Vincent (19-5 PAC) in a conference doubleheader Thursday at 1 p.m.
