GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College football team dropped a 38-21 decision Saturday afternoon to visiting Washington & Jefferson (3-1, 2-1 PAC) in Presidents' Athletic Conference action at Robert E. Thorn Field.
Junior wide receiver
Cameron Drake (Monaca, Pa./Central Valley) hauled in eight passes for 142 yards and a touchdown while fellow junior
Cody Gustafson (Shippensburg, Pa./Shippensburg) added six receptions and a touchdown. Sophomore quarterback
Josh Ehst (Douglassville, Pa./Daniel Boone) completed 18 of 36 passes for 210 yards and two touchdowns.
Grove City grabbed a 7-3 lead with 5:57 left in the first quarter when Ehst fired a 66-yard touchdown strike to Drake. W&J reclaimed the lead on Payton Skalos' seven-yard touchdown catch and E.J. Thompson's one-yard run, but Grove City answered before halftime. Gustafson pulled in a nine-yard touchdown reception from Ehst with 1:47 left in the half, cutting W&J's lead to 17-14.
W&J led 31-14 after three quarters but Grove City slashed the lead to 10 on a four-yard touchdown run by senior running back
Wesley Schools (Port Jervis, N.Y./Port Jervis). Sophomore kicker
Nick Morrow (Moon Township, Pa./Moon) followed with the third of his three extra points, cutting the lead to 31-21.
Schools led Grove City with 56 rushing yards on 18 attempts. Sophomore wide receiver
Branden Caffrey (Ashburn, Va./John Champe) caught three passes for 27 yards.Â

Patrick Mark (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla./Wellington) and sophomore linebacker
Parker Kilgore (Glenshaw, Pa./Shaler) each led Grove City with 14 tackles. Senior safety
Cameron Good (Muncy, Pa./Muncy) recorded two tackles for loss.
W&J outgained Grove City, 452-245. The Presidents owned a 34:39-25:21 edge in time of possession. Jacob Adams completed 23 of 34 passes for 279 yards for W&J. Joey Burns caught six passes for 126 yards.
Grove City (2-2, 1-2) will host conference foe Carnegie Mellon (4-0, 3-0) next Saturday at 2 p.m. in the annual Homecoming game at Robert E. Thorn Field. Kickoff will be 2 p.m.
