Grove City College Athletics

Luke Trueman joined the Grove City College athletic department as assistant baseball coach in July 2026. Trueman comes to the College after spending two seasons as an assistant coach at La Roche University. 

A standout at nearby Slippery Rock University from 2019 to 2023, Trueman concluded his career by earning American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Division II All-America distinction in 2023. He earned All-Atlantic Region honors, along with the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Western Division Player of the Year award. 

Trueman excelled as a two-way player at Slippery Rock as ranked third in program history in both strikeouts and innings pitched, and ninth in career home runs. He twice earned All-PSAC West recognition from the conference's head coaches. 

Following his collegiate career, Trueman played for the Billings Mustangs of the Pioneer League in both 2023 and 2024. He spent the 2025 season with the Tri-City Valley Cats and Down East Bird Dogs of the Frontier League. 

Trueman graduated from SRU with a bachelor's degree in social studies/secondary education.
