Conlan Burd joined the Grove City College athletic department in January 2024. The 2025-26 academic year will be his first full season as assistant track and field and cross country coach.
In 2024-25, Burd helped both the Grove City men's and women's track and field programs sweep the Presidents' Athletic Conference championships. Both teams won the conference's indoor title in February 2025, then swept the team titles at the outdoor championships in May.Â
Burd helped Grove City's men's track and field program capture its first-ever Presidents' Athletic Conference indoor championship in February 2024. In May, the Wolverines won the conference's outdoor title.Â
The women's team earned fourth at the indoor championships, then accumulated 101.5 team points at the outdoor championships to claim third place in the 11-team standings.Â
Burd came to Grove City after working as a graduate assistant track and field coach at Eastern University in fall 2023. His coaching career began at Southeastern Community College in Burlington, Iowa, where he served as head coach of sprints, hurdles and relays for two seasons.Â
Sixteen Southeastern athletes earned Academic All-Region honors while three athletes qualified for the national championships. Additionally, Southeastern's sprinters and hurdlers broke nine school records under Burd's guidance.
Burd competed in track and field at conference member Thiel from 2018 to 2021. A team captain during his career at Thiel, Burd earned Second Team All-PAC recognition in the 1600 relay. He ranks in Thiel's all-time top 10 in the 400 meters.
Burd graduated from Thiel with a bachelor's degree in mass communication.
