MEADVILLE, Pa. -- The Grove City College women's golf team placed sixth out of eight teams at Allegheny College's Guy & Jeanne Kuhn Invitational, held September 21-22 at Meadville Country Club. Grove City finished the two-day event with a team total of 711. The Wolverines recorded a team total of 354 on the first day, then followed up with a 357 on the second 18-hole round.
Junior
Lauren Kardos (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) posted Grove City's top finish at the event by placing seventh. She shot a 73 in the first round, then followed up with a 78 for a two-day total of 151.
Senior Hailey Muñoz (Sparta, N.J./Morris Catholic) finished 22nd by shooting 174 (88-86) while sophomore
Gabrielle Kinneer (Mount Pleasant, Pa./Mount Pleasant) finished 32nd. Kinneer shot 185 (92-93) for the 36 holes.
Sophomore
Sydney Goettel (Churchville, N.Y./Churchville-Chili) earned 39th place with a 201 (101-100) and senior
Rebekah Gaehring (Hawthorne, N.J./Hawthorne) rounded out the lineup by finishing 40th. Gaehring shot a 209 (106-103).
Carnegie Mellon won the team title with a 593. Kenyon's Sasha Belova earned medalist by carding a 143 (73-70). Forty-nine women competed in the tournament.
The Wolverines will compete in the Franciscan Invitational this Saturday at 1 p.m. in Steubenville, Ohio.
