GROVE CITY, Pa. -- The Grove City College softball team split a Presidents' Athletic Conference doubleheader Tuesday afternoon with visiting Geneva at College Field. Grove City (9-11, 3-3 PAC) won the opener, 2-1, while Geneva (11-9, 1-3 PAC) picked up a 9-5 victory in the nightcap.
In Game One, Grove City broke a 1-1 tie in the bottom of the sixth when senior right fielder
Hannah Dietz (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) tripled and then scored on a two-out double by sophomore left fielder
Lauren McNeil (Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio/Cuyahoga Valley Christian).Â
Grove City trailed 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth but tied the game when Dietz singled in freshman second baseman
Maci Linhart (Columbiana, Ohio/Columbiana). Linhart led off the inning with a triple.Â

Janessa Dawson (Zanesville, Ohio/Tri-Valley) went 3 for 3 with a double while Dietz finished 2 for 3.Â
Sophomore pitcher
Kaitlyn Constantino (Clarion, Pa./Clarion) earned the win in the circle by striking 10 batters in seven innings. She did not walk a batter while recording her third win and fifth complete game of the season.Â
In Game Two, Linhart's two-run single in the bottom of the first tied the game 2-2. Sophomore third baseman
Maralee Caldana (Milesburg, Pa./Bald Eagle Area) and senior first baseman
Haley Dietz (Allison Park, Pa./Hampton) scored on Linhart's hit.Â
Geneva scored three unearned runs in the second inning but Grove City trimmed the lead to 5-4 by scoring twice in the bottom of the fourth. Dawson's groundout scored sophomore catcher
Lauren Harris (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) while freshman pinch hitter
Brooke Brodie (Mogadore, Ohio/Mogadore) scored on an error.
Grove City finished with five hits, all singles.
Dawson pitched 5 2/3 innings and allowed nine runs, eight being unearned. She struck out two and walked none. Senior
Kaitlyn Dittrich (Houston, Pa./Chartiers-Houston) pitched 1 1/3 scoreless innings of relief and struck out three.
The Wolverines will visit Franciscan at 2 p.m. Thursday in conference action.
